Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary
Volunteer Marine Search and Rescue

Fundraising and Donations

Even if you take every possible safety precaution, disaster can strike at any moment. When that happens, you can always count on the volunteers of the CCGA. Can we count on you?

In 2010, CCGA units responded to 1,942 taskings to 1,741 marine incidents reported in Canada. Our members also participated in 2,566 training exercises. With 3,979 members and 1,133 vessels, the resources made available to the Canadian Coast Guard are considerable and the contribution of our volunteers significant (about 205,000 volunteer hours in 2010).

The CCGA receives partial funding from the Government of Canada. These funds are greatly appreciated but the Auxiliary is also required to raise the additional contributions needed to maintain its rescue services, keep its units equipped with the proper search and rescue equipment and to train its members to save lives at sea.

By contributing to the CCGA, individuals, clubs, societies, trusts and companies can help us save more lives.

There are a number of ways that the CCGA raise the funds required to maintain the volunteer rescue service in Canada:
